Personal data and information are being stolen so they can gain access to personal accounts. Such crimes can greatly affect your life and your future. That is why it is very important to have credit report monitoring as absolute protection against identity thieves.

What is credit report monitoring?

Credit report monitoring is the controlling and checking of credit history in order to detect and expose suspicious activities or changes that might be due to identity theft crimes. Using this kind of monitoring enables consumers to stay on track with their credits. It helps one realize the direction of their credits whether they are heading downwards or upwards.

What are the advantages of credit report monitoring?

It keeps you on the track. Whether you are a consumer who uses credit cards for purchasing goods or a business owner who is seeking more credit, it is critical that you monitor your credits. Also, most lending companies and employers are more careful when doing business with potential clients and employees, respectively. The credit report speaks the kind of character and of course, the credit situation an individual has. It tells whether one makes timely payments or if you have a bad credit history. The report even shows if one had suffered from bankruptcy before or already on the edge of bankruptcy.

It keeps you from incorrect credit reports. More and more people are suffering from inaccurate reports and this is one good reason why you need to monitor your credits regularly. The faulty information may be negative on your part as it may affect your overall credit score. You do not want to have a low credit score so taking care of those inaccuracies early can really make a difference. As a result, it helps you attain and maintain an impressive credit score.

It protects you from identity theft. Ecommerce is quite popular these days as it makes shopping a lot easier and less hassle. But at the same time, it enables identity thieves to gain access to more victims. It is the job of a monitoring program to investigate thoroughly any suspicious activities in your credit account which includes change in address, increase in credit limit, changes in account information, credit inquiries, changes in current accounts and public records.

What are the things you need to know when choosing a monitoring company?

The first thing you need to know is where a particular credit monitoring provider receives information. Data from any of the 3 major credit card agencies is always the preferred choice. Second, you also need to know how frequent they monitor. This is important because frequent monitoring increases the odds of catching an identity theft. Third, you need to determine if there are other services offered by the company like frequency of the released reports and updates. Some may include identity theft insurance if in case they made a mistake or overlooked a thief.

Credit report monitoring has gone rampant these days and you never know who’s going to be the next victim. To prepare yourself from this unscrupulous crime, you should try identity theft insurance to keep your peace of mind. Or you may want to try identity theft protection.

After suffering a traumatic accident at work, an American man filled in the appropriate accident report form. According to the claims adjuster, “trying to do the job alone” was not a detailed enough description of how the accident happened. The following account was then given to explain how his injuries occurred:

“At the top of a six story building when working alone as a bricklayer I discovered at the end of the day that I had over 500 pounds of bricks left over. To avoid carrying them down the six storeys by hand I decided I would lower them down using the barrel and pulley attached to the roof.

After securing the ropes I returned to the roof and began to fill up the barrel. Once full I returned to the ground to release the rope, because the bricks weighed almost 5 times more than I did, I made sure I had a firm grip of the rope before releasing it. Unsurprisingly I was launched off the ground quite quickly and did not have the foresight to let go of the rope.

Proceeding at a rapid rate up the side of the building I was around the height of the third floor when I collided with the barrel causing the fractured skull and broken collarbone. Continuing my rapid accent I was stopped only by my fingers getting dragged into the pulley system.

Fortunately I had the foresight at this point to retain my tight grip of the rope despite missing half my hand. However at about the same time the barrel crashed to the ground subsequently spilling its entire contents. Now weighing double my opposite load, we began to swiftly change places which accounts for my two fractured ankles and lacerations to my legs and lower body.

This collision was enough to reduce the speed of my impact with the ground but it was still severe. Unfortunately as I lay on the pile of bricks with three broken vertebrae and the previously mentioned injuries, I did not have the forethought to continue holding on to the rope…

A profession may be lucrative enough but it can also be the cause of unexpected expenses. This usually happens when mistakes occur in the giving of one’s professional service. Unfortunately, such monetary demands may be too big it can push someone to the brink of bankruptcy.

To avoid this, it is recommended that you prepare the necessary funds just in case those accidents do happen. You can do this by being covered with errors and omissions insurance.

This type of insurance is a guarantee that there is always enough money needed to satisfy damage claims. For example, doctors who may face suits because of malpractice may not worry about the consequential expenses if they have already prepared money for such events. Even insurance underwriters may need to be covered with it too. Some minor mistakes can be enough cause for litigation, which can cost a lot of money.

Even real estate appraisers can make mistakes in their profession. An erroneous appraisal, for example, can badly affect the finances of clients who will surely demand payment in return. Insurance Times published an article recently stating that the financial ombudsman had decreed that there are certain circumstances in which it would back the policyholder over the insurer, excluding however, instances where keys have been left in or near a car. I was then left wondering if the same would apply to motor homes.

The family and I had a late night in our motorhome playing cards and went to sleep very tired. As a result, when we woke up the next morning we were already late for a rendezvous that we had arranged with our close friends and fellow motor homers, the Wilsons. The usual queue for the shower ensued and by the time we were finally ready to go, our friends had decided to explore the country-side without us.

Then I couldn’t find the keys. We looked everywhere, and in my usual patient and understanding way I first accused every member of the family of hiding them, progressed to accusing them of not helping me to look for them properly and concluded by accepting my son’s version of events that aliens had come from Mars and stolen the keys to my motor home. I went to the cab to get my mobile and call my insurance company for help. I was stranded in the middle of a field with a grumpy family… and it was about to rain.

There, sat in the middle of the cab, next to my mobile phone were the keys! I had left the keys to my pride and joy on display in the cab, and I couldn’t help but wonder if the motorhome would be insured if it had been stolen under these circumstances, and so my mind wound its way back to the Insurance Times article.

If my motorhome had been a car the ombudsman would have considered

Location

Was I in a position to deter a thief

Was I recklessly ignoring the risks

Mitigating factors

Whether I knew about the exclusion in the insurance policy

I would like to think that this kind of thinking would have applied to me and my motorhome. If you use an insurance broker there is a much higher chance of finding a comprehensive insurance policy to cover you whatever your situation.

If you’re an old insurance man like me, going grey and still carrying a liking for old early 70′s bands like soft machine and caravan, then you probably think that you’ve seen the last of your summer music festivals with nights spent cramped under the canvas of a tent and waking up with aches and cramps in places you didn’t know existed! However, another way to go is to take your motorhome (or somebody else’s) along to the festival and enjoy the music and the atmosphere without the nights spent on the floor under canvas.

Many people have found that the motorhome route is the one to take if you want the best of both worlds. You get all the atmosphere of the festival with the added bonus of a shower and a cup of tea in the mornings, there’s no queue for the loo and the bed is guaranteed to be dry and warm, or at least it will be as long as you don’t leave the sunroof open in a downpour!

Many owners of motorhomes rent out their motorhomes for events like this because they know that lots of people enjoy music festivals but don’t look forward to the camping, however what a lot of them don’t realise is that doing this, while perfectly legal, is usually not covered under a standard motorhome insurance policy.

I remember seeing a couple at Glastonbury last year, blissfully leaving their motorhome in the sunny early hours of the morning having breakfasted under the awning, only to return late at night to find that one of Glastonbury’s famed monsoons had filled the awning with water causing it to twist, break and generally be ruined, That’s about 1000 worth of damage and all uninsured if the vehicle had been hired out without the authority of the insurance company.

If you think you might like to take your motorhome to Glastonbury or a similar festival, or that you might let someone else take it, it is well worth getting it covered for the trip as you really don’t know what might happen.

If you’re not going yourself, it is probably best to start by loaning your motorhome to friends or family rather than people you don’t know because adding friends or family to an existing insurance policy is by far the easiest way to go. So you can watch the festival from the comfort of your own home, safe in the knowledge that your motorhome is being looked after and even if it isn’t, you’ll know you have the right insurance to cover it.

If you are on the look out for motorhome insurance then you should check out Coversure, they are one of the best providers of vehicle insurance providing everything from standard car insurance to caravan insurance This and other unique content ” articles are available with free reprint rights.
